KUPWARA, JANUARY 23: Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Imam Din today visited different markets of Kupwara town and took stock of snow clearance and other basic amenities including power and water supply. He also inspected Sub District Hospital, Kupwara to enquire about Medicare facilities available in the Hospital. He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nazir Ahmad Lone, Chairman Muncipal Council Reyaz Ahmad Mir, President Beopar Mandal Showkat Masoodi and other concerned.
During the inspection of Hospital, the Deputy Commissioner went around various sections including Gynecological ward and OPD section. He enquired about the presence of surgeons and other paramedics. He asked Block Medical officer, Kupwara to show the roaster of the Doctors on duty and called written explaination from him on account non availability of staff in the Hospital. He designated Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara as Enquiry Officer to ascertain the reason of absence of the doctors and paramedical staff and authorized him to submit the report with in three days for further course of action under rules.
Deputy Commissioner said that health care is the first priority of the Administration, and he will himself monitor the presence of doctors by holding night inspections across the district. He directed Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara to have surprise inspection of hospitals in his jurisdiction and report to the Administration periodically.
Earlier,Deputy Commissioner,in the morning walked one kilometer by foot from Kupwara bridge to Sub District Hospital to assess himself the ground situation in the town. He visited bye-pass-road market, Iqbal market, Jamia Masjid Market, Derzipora market and other markets and directed the concerned to strictly adhere to price line , intensify market checking across the district so thàt no one can get involved in black marketing and undue profiteering due to inclement weather conditions.
