DC Kupwara reviews preparations for boosting tourism potential of Kupwara district

KUPWARA, FEBRUARY 23: In order to boost the tourism potential in the district, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the preparations for development of various tourist spots in the district.
         Chief Executive Officer, Lolab Bangus Drangyari Development Authority (LBDDA), Ghulam Nabi Bhat was also present in the meeting.
       Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Kupwara district has a huge tourism potential which needs to be exploited and put forth on the global tourism map which will increase the employment avenues for the unemployed youth of this far flung border district.  He stressed the need for wide publicity of different tourist spots spread across different areas of the district. 
        The Deputy Commissioner impressed upon all the stakeholders to extend their support in the development and upliftment of the tourist destinations.
       He also said that a Tourism Festival is going to be conducted in 2nd week of March at Teetwal to explore the local tourism potential of the area.
       CEO in his address said that the aim of convening the meeting was to discuss and review various strategies for boosting the tourism potential of the district.
       On the occasion, Officers from Tourism, Army and  other departments, besides, stakeholders including Presidents of  Traders Federation gave their suggestions for development of the tourism potential  of Kupwara district.
