DC Kupwara Reviews Internet Connectivity in Panchayats

Kupwara, July 30: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg today convened a meeting of concerned and reviewed installation of internet connectivity in uncovered panchayats across the district.

It was informed in the meeting that 82 panchayats in the district have been identified for installation of internet facility through VSAT in the first phase and rest of the panchayats will be covered in a phased manner. It was also informed that 237 Community Service Centres (CSCs) are going to be shifted in connected panchayats for facilitation of online digital services.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned to speed up the installation of internet connectivity in rest of the panchayats especially in remote areas so that people could get hassle free digital services at their doorsteps.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner was briefed through a powerpoint presentation about the overall functioning of Community Service Centres in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner(ADDC), Mohammad Ashraf Bhat; District Panchayat Officer, Shujaat Qureshi; SDO BSNL, District Manager CSC-SPV, MEITY, Dr. Javid Maqbool Shah; District Manager CSC-SPV Sajad Ahmad War.
