Kupwara, March 30, The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan on Saturday, flagged-off a group of 20 women trainees to National institute of fashion technology (NIFT) Srinagar for two month’s advanced training programme under ‘Aspirational District Programme’.
The group of women from different areas of Kupwara district were deputed to NIFT Srinagar in order to up-skill them in the field of Garment technology and fashion designing.
Superintendent, ITI Kupwara along with other officers and officials were present at the flagging off ceremony which was organized at the premises of DC Office complex Kupwara.
The Deputy Commissioner on the occasion interacted with the women trainees and sought their feedback regarding self employment related schemes and programmes of government.
The Deputy Commissioner. On the occasion, exhorted the trainees to take full interest in the training programme as it will provide valuable opportunities to enhance the skills and pursue a career in fashion technology.
DC urged the trainees to take the advantage of PMEGP and other related schemes and start their own ventures.
This initiative of District Skill Committee under the Chairpersonship of Deputy commissioner Kupwara, aims in ensuring that youth remain at the forefront of industry advancements. Such opportunities of up-skilling will not only augment the gap that exists between the types of skill available with the skills actually required at present, but also drive a spirit of innovation & entrepreneurship development leading to enhanced employment generation opportunities for the youth.
Meanwhile, the women trainees expressed their happiness for having a healthy interaction with DC Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan.
