Kupwara, March 6: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan conducted a tour of Khumryal to take appraisal of local issues of the area.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by DDC Council Member, Haihama, Sonawallah Khan, ADC Kupwara, Mohammad Rouf Rehman, ZEO Khumryal, Ch. Farooq Khantana, Principal, Government Higher Secondary School Khumryal, Nazir Ahmad Khan and other officers,
During the tour, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the local residents of area including members of civil society at Government Higher Secondary School Khumryal, where the local residents apprised the Deputy Commissioner regarding the developmental issues including need of additional accommodation for class rooms, and facility of smart classes at Higher Secondary School, Khumryal and other issues.
DC later visited Khangund area and took stock of the situation where land-erosion has occurred due to recent rains and snowfall.
After giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, the DC said that directions will be passed to the concerned officers for resolving of genuine demands and issues projected by people.
She said that the purpose of holding such Public meetings is to take appraisal of local issues from the general public for precise and on-ground assessment for their time bound redressal.
