Kupwara, December 31, 2025: Cyber Police Station Kupwara has reported strong and effective action against cybercrime during the year 2025, highlighting increased public awareness and robust coordination with banks and other agencies.
During the year, a total of 692 online cyber complaints were received, including 596 cases related to financial fraud and 96 complaints involving social media and other cyber offences. The total amount involved in financial fraud cases stood at ₹1,58,59,030, out of which ₹70,09,337.55 was successfully secured or recovered for victims through prompt intervention and legal coordination.
In addition to financial recoveries, Kupwara Police also traced and returned 44 lost or stolen mobile phones, valued at approximately ₹6.6 lakh, to their rightful owners, providing significant relief to the public.
Kupwara Police have once again urged citizens to remain vigilant against digital scams and to report cyber fraud without delay by dialing 1930 or by registering complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in, emphasizing that timely reporting greatly improves the chances of recovery.
