JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 29: The fifth edition of the Jammu Film Festival (JFF) 2026 concluded at Abhinav Theatre after two days of cinema, culture and industry interactions, attracting around 3,000 visitors and featuring over 300 local artists, filmmakers, actors and students.
Presented by Vomedh in association with Koshurwood Studio, the festival showcased 53 films from 16 countries, including 12 films from Jammu and Kashmir. The event also brought together around 20 delegates from across India and provided a platform for young filmmakers, students, content creators and artists.
The festival featured screenings, masterclasses and a panel discussion on regional storytelling, with participation from personalities including Ravi Kemmu and Danish Iqbal.
The closing ceremony was attended by Asit Kumarr Modi, founder of Neela Film Productions and creator of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, who presented awards across 17 competitive and special categories.
The annual Sh. K. L. Saigal Awards were presented to Ved Rahi, Rita Razdan Safaya and Bashir Budgami.
The two-day festival also featured performances by international tabla artist Jorge Ramiro, classical musician Hiranmay Mitra and Policewala Rapper, with more than 150 artists participating in the opening and closing ceremonies.
Festival Director Rakesh Roshan Bhat said the response had reaffirmed the need for a sustained international film platform in Jammu. The organisers said the next edition would focus on expanding international collaborations, strengthening the J&K filmmaking showcase and creating greater opportunities for young filmmakers.
With its fifth edition, JFF continues to position Jammu as a platform connecting regional cinema with national and international creative communities.
