Reviews Ground level Situation amid COVID-19 Lockdown

Kupwara, May 15: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg today visited Sogam Sub Division, inspected Sub District Hospital and took stock of problems of the people at ground level.
The Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Bashir Ahmad Bhat; SDM Lolab, BDO Sogam, SDPO and other concerned officers were accompanied with DC.
The Deputy Commissioner convened a joint meeting of local administration, members of the traders federation and civil society besides, PRIs. During the meeting, different issues were raised with regard to upgradation of power and water supply, release of pending payments under Rural Development schemes, maintenance of Sogam-Kupwara road, stabilization of prices of essential commodities in the sub division. The members of the traders federation projected for relaxation in lockdown to enable people to bring essential commodities ahead of Eid Ul Fitr.
The Deputy Commissioner heard them patiently and gave on spot directions to resolve the issues. The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned PDD Engineers for installation of all transformers procured during last month at required locations in the sub division. He also assured the people about monitoring and stablizing of prices of commodities in the area.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned BDO to release pending payments under NREGA works in coordination with PRIs to the concerned beneficiaries.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited Sub District Hospital Sogam where he inspected Dialysis Centre, OPD, IPD and General Ward of the hospital. On the occasion, the doctors, paramedical staff and volunteers, apprised the DC about their problems and demanded deployment of additional doctors to cope up with the pressure of the patient flow. The Deputy Commissioner assured them to fulfil their genuine demands.
