Kupwara, Aug 20 : Today Chairman pollution control board J&K Suresh Chugh visited remote district Kupwara to inaugurate kupwara division office building and Manual air monitoring station.
He was accompanied by Dr.Nadeem Hussain, Rafi Ahmad bhat, Regional Directors PCC Jammu & Kashmir, Zahid Mughal DFO Kamraj Division, & Divisional officers of Kupwara, Srinagar,Bandipora & Baramulla.
This office building has been Constructed by SICOP at an estimated Cost of Rs 75 Lakh.Gaurd of honour was presented to the officer by FPF personnel of kupwara division on his arrival.
On the occasion Worthy Chairman said this was a Long pending demand of the kupwara people as the pollution control board kupwara office was in a rented building and now anyone can visit the office without difficulties. About Manual air monitoring station he said from here air monitoring process will be done and data will be sent at national level for assessing the pollution levels. He assured that the Labs in the office will start functioning soon.
He further appealed to the residents of Kupwara that it’s a naturally beautiful district and people should avoid using polythene, plastics & should not indulge in deforestation.
Replying to a media question regarding ban of polythenes he said their are strict laws that need to be implemented and it will take little bit time to eradicate use and transport of Polythene from roots.
