KUPWARA, MARCH 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA), Department of Science & Technology in collaboration with District Administration Kupwara today conducted an awareness programme at DC Office, Kupwara for sensitization of farmers regarding use of Solar Energy for Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plants for residential sector and powering of irrigation pumps under PM-KUSUM Scheme.
The meeting was chaired by Additional District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Altaf Ahmad Khan. The Programme was attended by Senior Technical Officer, JAKEDA, Kashmir, Mrs. Rabia Noor; Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Kupwara, besides, field staff of JAKEDA, Agriculture, Horticulture and other line departments.
During the programme, the officers, field staff and farmers were apprised about various benefits/incentives extended by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy Gol and UT of J&K under PM – KUSUM and Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant scheme.
The ADDC appreciated the JKEDA for conducting the awareness programme. He also informed about “Component-B” of PM-KUSUM Scheme, under which a collective subsidy of 80% shall be provided to the farmers who intend to install Solar Water Pumps.
The pamphlets containing all the related information of Solar Pumps under PM-KUSUM scheme and Rooftop Solar Scheme, like prices, subsidy amount, beneficiary share, contact numbers of district nodal person etc. were distributed among the farmers and the officers for popularization of the scheme.
