ARMY ORGANISED INDUSTRIAL TOUR FOR STUDENTS OF FOOD CRAFT INSTITUTE, SONCHIPURA(KRALPURA)

Kralpora: In an effort to reach out to the youth and provide them with the necessary guidance in right direction, today Indian army organised an industrial tour for students of Food Craft Institute, Sonchipura (Kralpura) to Gulmarg. A batch of 60 students under Hunar-Se-Rozgar Tak scheme, are undergoing training in various trades of hotel management in the institute. Prior to the visit, Indian army had also organised screening and carried out selection of indls for new batches of the institute.

The visit was organised with an aim to give the young budding minds an insight of functioning of the hospitality industry and further combining their industry driven curriculum with the practical knowledge and its application on ground.

The group consisted of 03 teachers 40 girls and 20 boys. The students were very excited for the tour. They were taken 03 4-star hotels of Gulmarg namely Grand Mumtaj, Hotel Vintage and Heevan Retreat.

Students were given practical tips by hotel staff on holistic aspects of their profession. Further students undergoing training for Multi Cuisine course were taken around kitchens where they interacted with some of the renowned chefs and tried to understand the requirements and practicalities of this job.

Ms Rafaida Gulzar a student of Multi Cuisine course shares, “She was very excited for the visit and this was first time she had been to any 4-star hotel.”Further she added “The tour was very beneficial for her as she came across practical nuisance of her profession by interacting with the hotel staff”.
Another student Mr Rouf Ahmad shares, “It was an awesome trip where I learned a lot. This was the first time I got a chance to see a fine dining restaurant so closely. It was a great learning experience for me.”

Indian Army has always shown keen interest in upliftment of the students undergoing training in the institute and provided the institute with all the necessary assistance. Apart from this, for today’s visit Indian Army provided the institute with buses and packed refreshments for the students as well.
