Keran,June 28: Seventy kilometres from district headquarter Kupwara, the beautiful valley of Keran with three revenue Panchayats has no hope from civil administration and Army is the only Massiah in the area.From road connectivity to entertainment, Army provides every facility to the people living here in hamlet. The people of the area have always a last hope “Indian Army” to help in crisis. “During winters there is always huge snowfall in the area. To help our pregnant ladies, we know how army always comes for rescue. Civil administration remains nowhere during tough times of winter here”, said a 70 year old Assadullah.
To help the youth of area from getting information about jobs to entertainment,Army is always ready to help. “There are always cricket, volleyball tournaments in the area sponsored by Army. Yes it is definitely a right path to get these people involved in community building”,said Naseem Khatana a local resident.The Army in Keran Village has a ‘Silayi” centre and a Library to help youth for their own startups.A local social worker, Majaz Khan while appreciating Army Jawans said that it is because of them, they always feel safe. He said that Army is not helping them to get everything in need, but also helps students and children in these terrific times too.

District administration has some boards of offices here, but no one is present on the ground. Yes Army helps us and we are highly thankful to them”, said Tasleem Ahmad a local resident
