Kupwara, June 22: To help the downtrodden families in the far-flung areas of Kupwara district, a local , Alif foundation with the support of GOONJ, a voice an effort, an NGO distributed 100 food kits in Dardpora Village, 25 kilometres from the Kupwara town.
Ironically,most of the families in this village are headed by the widows. The job losses and no source of income has created extra stress to the families. These NGOs with food kits come no less than angles from heaven.
“We are thankful to these people who gave us these ration kits. What else do we need in these terrific times?” Said a woman who was also here to get a food kit.
Expressing his gratitude, sarpanch Javid Ahmad Mir said,
“Definitely we are highly thankful to these people. Yes these women are in need to get some help. These NGOs remember our people in these tough times it really means alot to us”. He added that the govt should however take some measure decisions to help these destitutes.
The co-founder of Alif Foundation Mir Tehmeed along with GOONJ representative, Fayaz Ahmad were also present while distributing these food kits.
“Our aim is to help the needy. We are contributing whatever little we can to make sure, no one goes hungry”, Mir Tehmeed said.
