Kupwara :- Assistant Director FCS & CA Kupwara , Mudasir Ahmad conducted a surprise market checking align with Revenue Department and Police administration and imposed a fine of 45,000 for violating the food safety standards. Many main hotels of Kupwara town were raided and expired food item were seized .
The fine was imposed on the erring traders, during the proceeding of cases of various blocks of district Kupwara related to the food safety and standards, listed before the adjudicating officer, an official handout read.
The adjudicating officer further directed the offenders not to repeat the practice of selling misbranded or any substandard food items and asked them to comply with the provision of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
“Strict actions shall be taken against violators and an FIR shall be lodged against erring shopkeepers .
“These drives will remain continue”, he said.
