AGS Wayne was seen set to kick off the annual celebration to mark the historic moment when India got freedom from colonial rule in 1947. This year, August 15, 2021, Kupwara Terriers org ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ at AGS Wayne to mark the 75th celebration of our Independence. In the post-pandemic era, the day saw some immensely vibrant events put up by the students of AGS Wayne, Kupwara cultural academy and children from Martial Art Academy, Kupwara. The celebrations were presided by the Secretary, Col Swaraj Bhattacharya along with OIC, Lt Col Gaurav Pathania. NCC Students dressed up in khaki uniforms displayed immaculate marching and presented guard of honour to the tri colour during flag hoisting ceremony adding nationalistic ambiance to its full potential. The event, thereafter, unfolded into a sequence of cultural programme put up by the students to include songs, group dances and patriotic speech. The nationalist spirit rose to greater heights when the audience witnessed some heart melting patriotic songs from the singers of Kupwara cultural academy and Martial art display from the children of Martial art academy, Kupwara. The ESMs, Sarpanches and BDC members attending the celebration were filled with immense pleasure and pride witnessing the zeal and enthusiasm of children as part of the celebration.
They also extended their gratitude to Kupwara Terriers in org this national commemoration befittingly under the prevailing challenging security situation.
The endeavour to raise awareness on the ideals of the Constitution and instil national spirit among the youth of Kupwara was seen met with utmost compassion and solemnity.
