Kupwara, Aug 3 : On a specific input , Police and army during a joint naka at Madmadow Kalaroose Kupwara crossing on Monday intercepted a vehicle and found 70 bottles of liquor, officials said.
While talking with news agency, they said soldiers from 41RR and Police during checking of the Xylo vehicle (No: JK01S- 2525) found the illegal liquor and recovered 70 bottles. The driver Ghulam Mohammad Ganie (35) of Dogerpora Kalaroos Kupwara has been arrested and the vehicle seized, they said.
A senior police officer confirming the recovery and the arrest of the driver told that further investigations are going on. He said that a case (FIR No. 276/2021) under section 48 Excise Act stands registered in this connection.
