Kupwara, Feb 9 : 140 Battalion Border Security Forces on Thursday flagged off a nation-wide tour for the students of north Kashmir’s frontier district Kupwara under the banner ‘Bharat Darshan’.
“In continuation of its efforts to win the hearts and minds of Kashmir border people especially youth, 140 Bn BSF, Kupwara, Kashmir under Civic action programme of MHA for Kashmiri students, a group of 14 Students and 1 Teacher of Govt. High school of Village Dapal, Misribehak & Katwara near to line of control under aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav being conducted by 140 Bn BSF was flagged off by Anil Varma, offg. Deputy inspector General, SHQ Kupwara in presence of Devender Kumar Commandant 140 Battalion BSF”, reads a statement.
“Known and respected people of Border area villages, Zonal education officer Tariq Ahmed Lone, DySP Kupwara Aijaz Ahemd, School Teachers & parents of students were also present on the occasion.”
“During the tour the students will visit major tourist attractions in the capital city Delhi and Agra. These students will also visit places of historical/cultural importance in surrounding areas to witness the multicultural and multilingual diversity of our beloved country.”
This tour, the statement reads, will provide a unique exposure to the students about rich cultural & heritage of India and will also enable them to gain firsthand knowledge about various developments taking place in different part of the country.
