Women of Lolab tie Rakhis to Soldiers of 28 Rashtriya Rifles

Raksha Bandhan is celebrated across India full moon day of the Hindu calendar in the month of Shravana. This year it is being celebrated on August 3. Women across the country are tying Rakhis not only to their brothers but also on the wrist of men, who secure boundaries of the nation so that others can peacefully sleep in the comfort of their homes.
Girls from various schools, colleges and local women of Lolab valley visited army camp of 28 Rashtriya Rifles at Chandigam village to celebrate the festival of Raksha Bandhan.
This initiative to celebrate the festival of love and bonding between brothers and sisters was taken by locals of Chandigam village as a mark of solidarity and respect to the soldiers deployed far away from their families. The initiative by these young girls was reciprocated by the Army with enthusiasm.
