Srinagar: Former legislator and AIP chief Er. Rashid on Monday said questioned leaders of PAGD for earlier barring him from celebrating State Flag day on June 7 every year and didn’t endorse him in upholding the sanctity of State Flag.
Er. Rashid, the former lawmaker of J&K who is lodged in Tihar jail in a purported audio message questioned the silence of PAGD leadership over his prolonged detention.
He said people can qustion People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) and BJP leaders for maintaining silence over absence of former lawmaker(his) who upheld the ethos of democracy in Jammu and Kashmir while representing his people.
“From 2008 to 2019 whatever were the circumstances, I tried to uphold the respect and dignity of my people and ensured development in my constituency”, Er Rashid has said.
He added that “I didn’t shy away from representing my people in Jammu and Kashmir and New Delhi as well. I left no place where I didn’t speak for my people? I spoke in Kashmir, Jammu and New Delhi in one-tune”, he said.
While continuing the audio message, Er Rashid says, “I was dragged on roads, State Assembly for taking up the people’s issue but I ensured the people’s voice reaches the Government”.
He reminded people of Langate constituency about the pledge- ” whatever will be the reasons, we will not get deviated from the right path.”
I ensured that youth must concentrate on education for making their future bright, he said.“I told my youth their place is in colleges and universities. Leave the politics to me and I will ensure true representation of my people according to their aspirations”, the former lawmaker in an audio message said.
He added, ” I never showed dreams to people because I spoke what was possible. My words were not contradictory in Kashmir, Jammu and New Delhi and I never exploited my people.”
AIP chief added tha all his apprehensions about Article 370, State Flag and its constitution were true.
“I always said If Kashmir resolution lies with VHP chief Bal Thakrey, I would not hesitate to talk to him.”
He appealed people to stick on the decision that AIP took ahead of DDC polls in Jammu and Kashmir and urged people of Langate to not lose determination and remain united and firm at this moment.
Pertinently the former lawmaker from north Kashmir’s Langate area is currently lodged in Tihar jail New Delhi. He was taken into custody few weeks after New Delhi abrogated Article 370 on August last year.
The former lawmaker is allegedly involved in money laundering case which is being probed by NIA. (KNS)
