SRINAGAR, Oct 13: The Chairman of All Kashmir Transport Confederation, (AKTC) Mohammad Shafi Mir, on Thursday said the transporters will rejoice and be thankful to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah if Batamaloo gets back to its bus stand from Parimpora Srinagar.
Talking to the media , Mir said that the government has reportedly taken some steps to fulfill their demand, but they are looking for the end result.
He said BJP J&K president Ravinder Raina assured them that things would be on track and it would be a historical moment for the BJP-led government in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chairman AKTC, Mohammad Shafi Mir, said that shifting of the bus stand to its old place in Batamaloo will help to generate employment for the youth also. “It will be a sign of relief for the passengers too, as they have to take extra buses from Parimpora to other locations of the city.”
Pertinent to mention here that, despite continuous protests by the traders and transporters, the old bus stand Batamaloo was shifted to Parimpora in October 2017. (KD)
