VC-DDC Kupwara holds Public Darbar at Cheepora Lolab


KUPWARA, AUGUST 28: Vice Chairman District Development Council (VC-DDC), Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir today convened a Public Darbar in Cheepora Lolab of Kupwara district. BDC Chairperson Wavoora, Mohammad Rafiq, PRIs from different areas and people in large number attended the public darbar.
     Speaking at the occasion, the Vice Chairman said that holistic development of far flung areas of Lolab valley is among his top priorities. He said augmentation of roads, power, water supply and healthcare has received his special focus since the inception of the District Development Council.
         The Vice Chairman said that under augmentation, many road projects including Wavoora-Sogam road, Krusan-Saiwan and other inner links have been accomplished so far. He added that work is in progress on several other roads which include Wavoora-Rang-Warnow road which will provide major relief to the vast population of Potnai belt of the Lolab valley on its completion.  He further said that work is going on for augmentation of water supply schemes in various areas including Tangcheck, Saiwan and Wavoora which will ensure uninterrupted drinking water to the people in these areas.
          On the occasion,  PRIs including Sarpanchs, Panchs and Senior citizens from various Panchayat halqas of Wavoora DDC constituency put forth their demands and developmental issues before the Vice Chairman.  The issues raised include scarcity of drinking water, macadamization of inner roads, pending payments under RDD schemes etc.
         The Vice Chairman heard the PRIs patiently and assured them for timely resolution of their genuine demands.
        Meanwhile, Haji Farooq expressed his gratitude towards the officers at helm of affairs including Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Mr. Imam Din for their necessary support in providing basic facilities to the people. He also appreciated the field functionaries of various departments who serve the people during the challenging times of Covid pandemic.
        Team Information Department Kupwara at the occasion, appealed the people to follow Covid SOPs by usage of mask, hand hygiene and maintenance of social distancing.
