Srinagar, 17th May: Two militants were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Khonmoh area on Srinagar outskirts this morning, said Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar.
The firefight took place early this morning after a joint team of police and security forces cordoned the area following inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
“Two militants were hiding in the area. They were repeatedly asked to surrender, but they turned down all offers,” the IGP said. “This morning, the encounter started and both the militants were killed. The slain duo are locals from Al-Badr outfit.”
