Srinagar, July 27: J&K Peoples Movement (JKPM) has demanded the release of wages of all daily wagers, casual labours, need-based, anganwari and ASHA workers at the earliest.
In a press release, JKPM Vice President Advocate Syed Iqbal Tahir said that the weaker and poorer sections of the society have been totally neglected by the government and their means of livelihood is badly impacted.
“The government makes tall claims when it comes to the welfare of the poor, but the reality is that injustice is being done to them. In these difficult times of COVID 19, how can the government expect them to take care of their families”, Iqbal Tahir questioned the government.
He demanded the release of wages in favour of all those workers pending for several months without any further delay, in view of Eid festival.
JKPM State Executive Member and District President Bandipora Amin Sofi also demanded the immediate release of wages to the daily wagers. He claimed that the community of daily wagers in J&K are living in deplorable conditions and the government has failed to evolve a mechanism to ensure smooth and timely release of wages.
