Kupwara, June 23: In operation “Kala Jungle” conducted in the Machil sector of Kupwara, security forces have achieved a major breakthrough against militants, resulting in a significant recovery of arms, ammunition, and other incriminating materials.
The operation led to the neutralization of a militant group, and the recovery made by the security forces includes 09 x AK-47 rifles, Nine powerful AK-47 assault rifles were recovered.
Also, 14 x AK magazines: Fourteen magazines capable of housing ammunition for AK-47 rifles were confiscated, highlighting the militants’ intent to sustain prolonged engagements.
In addition, AK and Pistol – 288 Rds: A substantial cache of 288 rounds of ammunition, compatible with AK-47 rifles and pistols, was discovered, emphasizing the militants’ preparedness for extended encounters.
04 x Hand Grenades: Four hand grenades were found, underscoring the militants’ intent to inflict harm and cause destruction, 03 x Pistols Three pistols were recovered, indicating the presence of secondary firearms within the militant group.
05 x Pistol Magazines: Five magazines designed for pistols were seized, suggesting the militants’ intention to engage in close-quarter combat situations.
Suspected Narco Packets – 55 The recovery of 55 suspected narco packets were also recovered from killed militants.
