NHM Joint Coordination Committee thanks JK admin for pay-hike approval

Srinagar, May 28: The National Health Mission Employees’ Association (NHMEA) today expressed gratitude to the UT administration led by Lt Governor Sh Manoj Sinha for the approval accorded to enhancement of salary to meagerly-paid NHM employees.

In a statement, Joint Coordination Committee President Muneer Andrabi hailed the efforts of Financial Commissioner H&ME, Sh Atal Dulloo and Mission Director NHM, Sh Mohammad Yasin Choudhary and Director Finance H&ME Sh Mohammed Rafiq and Director Planning NHM in getting additional funds from NPCC Delhi for year 2021-2022.

He said the officers personally along with their teams made all possible efforts in Delhi to get the approval accorded. “We are indebted to them for the effort”, he said, adding that the approval will take them one step further towards pay parity on ‘equal work – equal pay’ principle which is their long standing demand.

The Association hoped that the rationalization exercise is done in a scientific manner with the employees’ representatives kept in loop. “We hope the injustices met out in the past are corrected. Transparency holds key in ensuring nobody faces injustice”.

The Association said it is very hopeful that this time along with pay parity, the government takes a view on regularisation policy and social security measures, like EPF for all.

Andrabi also sought ex-gratia relief for the employees who have died in harness since the inception of the Mission for which “The funds for same had been allotted last financial year 2020-2021 and we hope the disbursal is made as early as possible”, he also added that we also optimistic that Covid-19 incentives will also be released for all the employees working under ambit of NHM for the year 2021-2022.

The Association is optimistic and is looking forward for the sympathetic approach towards redressal of key grievances of the employees working under ambit of NHM.

Meanwhile, the Association assured the administration of their best possible effort in delivery of healthcare to the masses and particularly in fighting the ongoing pandemic.
