Handwara, Dec 07 : National Conference (NC) women leader, Shameema Firdaus on Tuesday said that the present situation is an outcome of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rule in Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing party workers in Handwara, Firdaus as per the news agency— blamed Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for splitting Jammu and Kashmir, saying that it was the dream of Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to sell out Kashmir.

“Jammu & Kashmir has been torn apart and it is all because of the PDP rule. Had PDP kept BJP at bay, the situation could have been different,” she told the gathering.

She also accused Mehbooba Mufti of killing civilians and blinding youth including girls during her tenure as chief minister.

Referring to Handwara civilian killings, she said that it was Mehbooba Mufti who used force against the people of Handwara during which several people and young boys and girls received pellet injuries in their eyes, who lost their eyesight forever. “Where was her morale, which she is showing these days,” she asked.

“Had Mehbooba not allied with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the situation would have been quite different,” she said. “We would not have been made slaves of India. Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah had taught us not to bow down before anyone.”

“We have been sold out by PDP and this was the dream of Late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed,” she said, adding that the present situation is the outcome of PDP. “If the youth are coming out to press for their rights like power supply, they are being arrested and booked under PSA,” she said.

Pertinently, National Conference organized a day-long women wing convention program at Kulangam Handwara with the participation of different party leaders.
