Kupwara : Municipal Council Kupwara has issued a strict public notice directing residents to immediately cease the dumping of cow dung, animal waste, and other refuse on roads, pathways, and near water bodies within the municipal limits.
According to the notice issued by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Municipal Council Kupwara, the indiscriminate disposal of such waste poses a serious threat to public health and safety, in addition to creating inconvenience for the general population.
“It has been observed that inhabitants of Municipal Council Kupwara are dumping cow dung, animal waste and other waste material on roads, paths and near water bodies, which not only cause serious threat to lives but also make inconvenience to general public,” the notice states.
The CEO further informed that the public has been given a period of seven days to comply with the directive. “Failing which, action will be taken against the violators under relevant sections of law,” the notice warns.
This initiative is part of the Council’s ongoing efforts to maintain cleanliness and public hygiene in the town, and residents have been urged to cooperate in the interest of collective health and safety.
