MGNREGA employees association extended “Pen Down” strike for three days

Srinagar,August 27: To further push their demands and against governments cold shoulder response, MGNREGA employees association have given again three days “Pen down” strike from August 28 to August 31.

In a statement issued here the employees association stated that “In wake of non- serious approach shown by the administration, particularly RDD & PR, All JK MGNREGA Employees Association has decided to extend its ongoing peaceful pen down protest.”

It further reads that All MGNREGA Employees Association JK have decided to extend the ongoing pen down protest for a period of (3) three working days in wake of non-seriousness approach shown by the Government /administration to redress our long pending legitimate demand of absorption/ Regularization in RD & PR department against the available vacant posts of the department.

Hence the executive body of the association with the support of union body Jammu province/ Kashmir province and its cadres viz Social Audit Coordinators, Programme Officers, Technical Assistants, MISO’s, Gram Rozgar Sahayaks, and AAAO’s.

“We hope that the media may kindly approach the Lieutenant Governor, Administration/worthy Advisor (BK) RDD & PR for their response about the issue and project our legitimate demand before them”.
