In a groundbreaking achievement, doctors at SDH Kupwara successfully performed an advanced laparoscopic surgery on a 60-year-old female patient suffering from Triple Compartment Prolapse. The procedure, Laparoscopic Ventral Mesh Rectopexy with Sacro Colpopexy, is a first-of-its-kind in Jammu and Kashmir at the Subdistrict or District Hospital level,as claimed by the surgical team.
The skilled surgical team, led by Dr. Rayees Ahmad Dar (Consultant Colorectal, General, and Laparoscopic Surgeon), along with Dr. Sanjay and Dr. Anil (Postgraduate Surgery students), Mr. Firdous, Mr. Shahzad, and Mr. Tariq, showcased exceptional expertise. The anesthesia team, under the guidance of Dr. Farooq A Khan (Consultant Anesthesia), Dr. Zaka, Dr. Fayaz, Mr. Ghulam Rasool Bhat, and Mr. Veer Pal Singh, ensured a smooth and successful procedure.
This remarkable achievement was made possible with the support of HOD Surgery Dr. Arshid Hussain, Medical Superintendent Dr. Muhammad Shafi Mir, and CMO Kupwara Dr. Mohd Ramzan, who provided logistical support and extend heartfelt congratulations to the Surgery Department’s dedicated team.
