Kupwara:Extending Ramadan greetings to Muslims across the globe and J&K, President Municipal Council Kupwara Reyaz Ahmad Mir said that observing the crescent moon for Ramadan holds a lot of religious significance for the Muslim community all over the world. It denotes the start and the end of the month of Ramadan and we as Muslims feel pleasure to celebrate this pious and holy month with utmost fervour and faith.
He said that fasting from dawn to dusk by first having Sehri and later breaking through Iftar gives satisfaction to us to have the benevolence of Almighty Allah SWT and increases faith in getting grace and forgiveness and reward.
Mir,said that Roza (Fasting) is also one of the main pillars of Islam and the basic idea behind fasting is to practise self-restraint and engagement in human activities with charity etc.
Mir also urged the government to provide all facilities with adequate supplies of essential commodities like Ration, Gas etc and proper water and electric supply during this month for the convenience of the general public.
