Kupwara: A few years ago,  sports persons in Kupwara district won’t bother much if they aren’t photographed, but now the trend has changed, all because of a person who captures moments of every cricket match in Kupwara; Lone Mahie.

Shabir Ahmad popularly known as Lone Mohie who is a new social media sensation, particularly on cricket pages as he “captures beautiful moments” Of almost every match played.

A photography lover, who would only capture nature earlier, gained interest in sports photography. “I would only capture my friends or myself or capture nature photography. But then my friend Bhat Musa provided me this platform”, excited Mahie said.
Lone Mahie started his photography back in 2016 and it was in 2019 when he was brought on stage of capturing the Cricket Stars of kashmir.  He follows the British Cricket Photographer Patrick Eagar who he thinks is his “Idol”.  He wants to replicate him and is donning the local fields so far with his lense.

Supported by his family in general but  feels ” Younger brother and my have been biggest support” Who would encourage him to be on the cricket
Lone Mahie firmly believes  that it is because of the photography that he has got this fame and respect by the people. “Otherwise I would have been lagging in my courtyard”, he said with a smile and hope.
“Definitely I am thankful To  Bhat Musa and Mushtaq War who gave me the platform to capture  the cricket and cricket stars with my lense”He wants to represent J&K with his lense in the field of sports. He is a true artist in his field.
