Kupwara: The Jammu and Kashmir Police sponsored volleyball tournament held under the Civic Action Programme-2024 concluded successfully here at District Police Lines. The tournament, which commenced on July 27, featured 8 teams from across the district.
The final match saw Lolab Volleyball Club facing off against Hyhama Volleyball Club wherein the former emerged winners prevailing in straight sets with a 3-0 scoreline.
Mohd Iqbal Lone, captain of Lolab Volleyball Club, was named both Player of the Tournament and Player of the Match for his exceptional performance.
It is important to note that similar volleyball tournaments are being organized throughout the jurisdictions of all Police Stations in the district.
The closing ceremony was attended by Gh Mohd Bhat, Addl SP Kupwara, DySP DAR Kupwara and other officers/officials of District Police Kupwara.
The aim of these initiatives by the District Police Kupwara, is to engage the youth in constructive and healthy activities, thereby diverting them from the path of drug abuse and other anti-social behaviors.
These events not only help to develop a sense of community and sportsmanship but also contribute significantly to the overall well-being and positive development of the younger generation.
