Kupwara: To generate awareness among unorganised workers about the e-shram portal and various schemes operated by the Department of Labour which are currently in vogue at the UT level, Deputy Labour Commissioner Kashmir Division organised a daylong awareness camp in SDM office Lolab.
The awareness camp was attended by various unorganised workers from across various departments like Health, Rural Development, Social welfare, Agriculture etc, who were made aware about the e-shram card and its subsequent benefits, besides this unorganised workers were also given awareness regarding various welfare Schemes, operated by the Department of Labour.
On the occasion Deputy Labour Commissioner Kashmir, Ahmad Hussain (JKAS) detailed about the schemes operated by Department like e-shram, Atal Pension Yojana, Prime Minister’s Shram Yojna Jan Dhan Yojna and pressed upon all the workers to get themselves registered within an ambit of these schemes, so that the benefits of Social security schemes reach to them timely.
Deputy Labour Commissioner Kashmir impressed upon Assistant Labour Commissioner Kupwara to reach out to these workers and ensure that no unorganised worker is left out. He also directed that special camps be organised for workers living in remote hinterlands of Kupwara at their door steps.
Later SDM Lolab, who was chief Guest on the occasion thanked Deputy Labour Commissioner Kashmir for organising such camp and also stated that he will personally ensure that all the unorganised workers and other workers for whom such schemes have been launched get benefits from these schemes by facilitating them in future.
On the occasion, an on-spot registration camp was also set up in which unorganised workers belonging to various sectors were registered.
Besides, Deputy Labour Commissioner Kashmir, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Lolab Kupwara, Assistant Labour Commissioner Kupwara, Tehsildar Lolab and other Block officers were also present on the occasion.
