KUPWARA, MAY 20: 17th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting of Krishi Vigyan Kupwara was held today under the Chairmanship of Director Extension, SKUAST-K, Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi. Wherein a Hi-tech Honey Testing Laboratory was online inaugurated by Narindar Singh Tomar, Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture, Govt. of India and Offline by Director Extension Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi.
Director Extension SKUAST-K in his address stressed on liaison of Kendra with all the departments with respect to Holistic Agriculture Development Plan (HADP) so that the activities of the plan are carried out with line departments efficiently and time bound.
Senior Scientist & Head KVK Kupwara Dr. Kasiser Mohiuddin Malik presented the Progress Report of 2022-23 and action plan of year 2023-24. The meeting was attended by all district officers of line departments where they discussed various schemes of their respective departments and also appreciated the role of KVK in bridging the gap between farmers and the line departments.
Farmers from different areas of the district attended the programme where they gave feedback and also acknowledged the role of KVK in disseminating different technologies of SKUAST-K to the farmers.
The SAC was followed by inauguration of honey testing Laboratory at KVK Kupwara virtually by Hon’ble Union Agriculture Minister, Shri Narinder Singh Tomer and in offline mode by Worthy Director Extension SKUAST Kashmir, Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi , Senior Scientist & Head KVK Kupwara and PI of the project Dr. Rizwana Khursheed . The hon’ble minister interacted with the progressive farmer of the Kendra , Ms. Pakeeza who established a unit after getting training from the Kendra.
