Ms. Ayushi Sudan, District Collector, Kupwara (Jammu & Kashmir), was the next speaker in Session I of the National Conference on Good Governance Practices at Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
She underscored Kupwara’s impressive progress through a saturation-based approach to the implementation of key government schemes.Despite the district’s challenging terrain, limited employment opportunities, and low access to clean drinking water, Kupwara made strategic strides by identifying service delivery gaps and addressing them through a six-point strategy, focusing on accountability and monitoring, youth engagement, inter-scheme convergence, and community participation.
As a result, a total of 9,618 houses were constructed under PMAY-Gramin, the highest in the Kashmir region, and as many as 1,191 units were delivered under PMAY-Urban, significantly improving housing access and living conditions for underserved families. These achievements were made possible through effective governance, strategic planning, and inclusive public service delivery.
