KUPWARA, APRIL 26: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din today asked scientists of Krishi Vegyan Kendra (KVK) Kupwara to ensure all efforts to transfer the latest scientific techniques from lab to land.
The Deputy Commissioner was addressing a Kissan Mela organized by KVK Kupwara here at TRC Kupwara. ADC Kupwara, Ghulam Nabi Bhat; District Head KVK, Dr. Sajad; Officers from Agriculture and allied departments, besides, progressive farmers and PRIs participated in the day long Kissan Mela.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to initiate an intensive awareness campaign in the rural areas of the district and give scientific technical knowhow of the agriculture and allied schemes to the farmers.
The Deputy Commissioner urged upon the farmers to take full advantage of the programmes and schemes envisaged for the boost of agriculture sector in the district.
Expressing his satisfaction, the Deputy Commissioner said that agriculture is fastly growing on commercial lines in the district and youth are now participating in agriculture entrepreneurship.
ADC Kupwara also spoke on the occasion.
Subject matter specialists and scientists of KVK also spoke on the occasion and gave detailed awareness to the farmers about latest scientific techniques.
The Deputy Commissioner also gave away awards to 7 progressive farmers for their better performance in agriculture entrepreneurship.
Earlier, the DC Kupwara inspected different stalls installed by various departments at the venue.
