07 Companies participated; 04 Unemployed youth provided on-spot offer letters, 60 candidates shortlisted for next rounds, 25 trainees provided skill development certificates
KUPWARA, JANUARY 11: In an endeavour to provide a convenient platform to the educated unemployed youth/Job seekers and facilitate their interaction with Private Companies and Employers for Training, Skilling and placement, District Employment & Counseling Centre (DE&CC) Kupwara today organized a day-long Job Fair at Town Hall, Kupwara here.
The Job fair was inaugurated by Joint Director Employment Kashmir, Ms Zeenat Ara in presence of Assistant Director Employment, DE&CC Kupwara, Ms Shabnam Arif Mir and other staff members of the department.
Around 07 Private Companies from diverse sectors including M/S P R AMERICA, M/S CAMPUS DIAL, M/S WEPS CIVIL AVIATION, M/S KOCHAR BPO, LTD, LIC and M/S MIRS JOB PLACEMENT participated in the event.
The event saw an overwhelming response from Job seekers and companies. Joint Director Employment Kashmir visited the stalls and interacted with the participating youth and representatives of private companies.
While addressing the youth, Joint Director Employment Kashmir emphasized upon them to come out of the traditional mindset and participate in such kinds of events to extend their horizons of vision and wisdom. She further briefed the audience about the options available in the private sector, public sector and incentivized schemes under the self-employment sector. The Joint Director Employment appreciated the AD Employment and her team for organizing such a programme, where an educated unemployed youth is being offered an opportunity to interact and understand the opportunities in the private sector.
The CEOs/Managing Directors and representatives of the participating private sector establishments also spoke on the occasion and acquainted the participants regarding the job opportunities, skill development and employment-oriented courses offered by these companies.
The 25 certificates of completion under the Skill Development Course “Domestic IT Helpdesk Attendant” offered by DE&CC Kupwara in collaboration with Wyath Service Pvt Ltd were distributed among the enrolled trainees who completed the training module by Joint Director Employment Kashmir. It is worth noting here that 04 trainees were already placed by the skill training partner in different private sector companies. Later 02 vehicle keys were also handed over to the beneficiaries under the Mumkin scheme by the JD Employment.
Career Counseling Officer, DE&CC Kupwara deliberated on the scheme and programmes of the department and opportunities available under the Mission Youth Framework. Young professional DE&CC Kupwara deliberated on the importance and preparation of a well-organized resume and was sensitized about the NCS portal and UT-level Employment portal.
On the occasion, 04 Unemployed youth were provided on spot offer letter, 302 fresh registrations were made and 60 candidates were shortlisted for the next rounds. The programme was moderated by Ishfaq Ahmad Wani, Employment Officer DE&CC Kupwara. Job seekers expressed their satisfaction and gratitude to the organizers for providing a suitable platform to interact with job providers. The success of the Job Fair highlighted the importance of such initiatives in bridging the gap between job seekers and potential employers, fostering skill development, and contributing to overall employment opportunities in the region.
