Launch of AB-PM JAY SEHAT scheme
Public representatives presides over functions
KUPWARA, DECEMBER 26: At the time when Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, launched the flagship Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT scheme for the residents of Jammu and Kashmir, the District Administration and Health Department Kupwara, organized 2 mega district level events and 10 subdivision and block level events in the district, here today.
Live streaming of Prime Minister’s speech was part of the function, which was witnessed by hundreds of people across the district. The valuable information regarding benefits of the scheme was shared and insurance cards were distributed among the beneficiaries.
The main district level function was held at Conference Hall, DC Office, Kupwara, which was presided over by Member Parliament, Fayaz Ahmad Mir.
Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg, ADC, Nazir Ahmad Lone, CMO and Officers of District Administration were also present.
Newly elected District Development Council (DDC) members, BDC Chairpersons, PRIs, 100 health insurance beneficiaries and other concerned also attended the function.
Speaking at the occasion MP, Fayaz Ahmad Mir said that AB-PM JAY SEHAT is a flagship programme which envisaged to provide health insurance cover to each family across the country and today the ambit of this flagship programme has been extended to Jammu and Kashmir , including Kupwara district also. He stressed the need to reach out all people, irrespective of their life standard so that 100 percent coverage could be achieved in a time bound manner.
Deputy Commissioner, Anshul Garg while sharing his knowledge regarding AB-PMJAY SEHAT said that the flagship programme has a vast ambit to cover all families of the district apart from their socio economic growth and status and every family is eligible to avail Medicare facilities upto Rs 5 lakh in empaneled Government and Private Hospitals of the country through this insurance cover. He also congratulated the newly elected DDC members for attending the function first time.
ADC Kupwara also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, CMO Kupwara briefed the function about the scheme.
At the conclusion of the function, MP and DC distributed Health cards among the 100 beneficiaries.
The Same type of function was held at Environmental Hall, Handwara which was presided over by President Municipal Committee, Handwara, Masroor Ahmad Banday. The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir and Superintendent District Hospital Handwara were also present.
On the occasion, Health cards were distributed among beneficiaries.
Subdivision level functions were also held at Tangdhar and Sogam where concerned BDC Chairpersons presided over the function. The Sub Divisional Magistrate, Karnah, Dr Bilal Mohiddin Bhat and Sub Divisional Magistrate Sogam, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat , BMOs and local officers attended the functions, besides beneficiaries. Block level functions of same nature were held at Trehgam, Kralpora, Willgam, Zachaldara, Langate and Kalaroos ,where concerned BDC Chairpersons presided over the functions. Concerned Tehsildars, BDOs , local officers, PRIs and beneficiaries attended the functions. Concerned BMOs threw light on the benefits of the AM-PM JAY SEHAT scheme . Live telecast of PM’s speech was also witnessed and Health cards were distributed among the beneficiaries.
Banners and Hoardings were erected explicitly to attract people’s attention towards the benefits of the scheme whileas pamphlets and other publicity material was distributed at each venue on the occasion.
