SAMBA, SEPTEMBER 21: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Ms. Ayushi Sudan, IAS, today chaired a meeting of the District Level Review Committee (DLRC)/District Consultative Committee (DCC) at the DC Office Complex, Samba, to review the performance of banks for the quarter ended June 2026.
The meeting, convened by Ms. Nishu Suppal, Lead District Manager (LDM), Samba, reviewed key banking indicators including deposits, advances, Credit-Deposit (CD) Ratio, achievement under the Annual Credit Plan (ACP) 2026-27, as well as the progress of various Government-sponsored and social security schemes.
The meeting was attended by LDO RBI Mr. Vishal, DDM NABARD Mr. Shalesh Sharma, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, AD Fisheries, District Coordinators of J&K Bank, SBI, PNB and JKGB, representatives of other banks and officials of sponsoring Government departments/agencies.
The LDM informed the meeting that banks operating in Samba district had recorded deposits of ₹9,575 crore and advances of ₹5,470 crore as on June 30, 2026, with the district recording a CD Ratio of 58%.
Under the Annual Credit Plan 2026-27, banks achieved advances of ₹1,453.85 crore against the annual target of ₹3,365.40 crore, registering an achievement of 43%. Under the Priority Sector, advances stood at ₹2,684 crore against the target of ₹8,695 crore, while under the Non-Priority Sector, advances stood at ₹5,843 crore against the annual target of ₹9,713 crore.
DC Reviews Government-Sponsored Schemes
The Deputy Commissioner conducted an extensive review of Government-sponsored schemes, with special focus on PMEGP, JKREGP, KCC, HADP, PMAY, NRLM and NULM.
Emphasising the importance of financial inclusion and employment generation, DC Samba directed banks to achieve 100% digitisation of bank accounts and advised all sponsoring agencies and banks to intensify awareness among the public regarding various self-employment schemes launched by the Government.
She called for expediting the disposal of pending cases sponsored by different Government departments/agencies and directed banks to ensure timely credit delivery, particularly in the Agriculture and Allied sectors, Mission Yuva, PM Surya Ghar, MSME, Housing and Education sectors.
The DC also stressed upon coordinated efforts for improving credit flow to GIG workers and directed the banks to work towards achieving a healthy CD Ratio of above 70% in the district.
She further directed the banks to ensure coverage of all eligible beneficiaries under social security schemes, including PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY.
