Arms & ammunitions recovered
Handwara:- On the basis of specific information regarding the activities of ANEs, the houses of Azad Ahmad Bhat S/o Ab Razak R/o Shalpora Langate 2.Altaf Baba S/o Salam Din R/o Rafiabad Babagund 3. Irshad Ahmad R/o Selikoot Uri were raided last night and during search Arms/ Ammunition and letter pads of proscribed militant outfit LeT were recovered and the three were arrested.
During questioning it came to surface that all the persons were working with militant outfit LeT and were motivating the youth of the area by providing them arms and ammunitions to join militancy.
They further disclosed that they have provided arms and ammunitions to some youth who joined militant ranks recently and are operating with the juridiction of Handwara.
Today on 03.04.2020 in the morning hours, Handwara Police along with 21RR,30RR and 92 Bn.CRPF following the input regarding the presence of militants in Village Gund Chogal launched a search operation.
During search operation 04 militants of LeT outfit have been apprehended and 03 AK-47, 08 AK 47 Magzines, 332 AK rounds, 12 Hand Grenades, 03 Pistol, 06 Pistol Magzines, 24 Pistol Rounds, letter Pad of LeT outfit have been recovered from their possession.
The apprehended militants are;1. Parvaiz Ahmad Chopan S/o Ab Rashid Chopan R/o Shartpora Langate.2. Mudasir Ahmad Pandith S/o Ab Rehman R/o Zargar Mohalla Langate.3. Mohd Rafi Sheikh S/o Mohd Ahsan Sheikh R/o Eidgah Mohallla Langate.4.Burhan Mushtaq Wani S/o Mushtaq Ahmad R/o Tulwari Langate.
In this context Case FIR No. 104/2020 U/s 120 B IPC, 7/25 I.A.Act., 16,18 ,19,38,39 UAP Act has been registered in Police Station Handwara. Further investigation into the matter is under process.
