The apple orchards in Pahalgam, Shangus, Rajpora, Abhama, Bagh Sangerwani, Drakladan, Achgoza, Drabgam and other villages were damaged due to untimely hailstorm.

The assessment of the total damage was not known immediately, however, witnesses said that crops suffered heavy damage.

“This year, we expected a good crop, but the hail and windstorms have not only dashed our hopes, but also left the orchardists in desperation,” said a farmer.

The hailstorm has inflicted heavy damage on crops like apple, cherry, rice saplings and other vegetables and fruits.
