Teetwal, May 13 : The armies of India and Pakistan on Thursday exchanged sweets and greeting each other on the occasion of the Eid-ul-fitr along Line of Control (LoC) in Teetwal Sector Of Karnah north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.Indian and Pakistan soldiers along the border at Teetwal crossing point in Kupwara exchanged sweets and pleasantries on the festive occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr in a genial and cordial atmosphere.
The bridge at Teetwal has been a key enabler for such peace meetings. The newly achieved calm along the LoC as a result of ceasefire agreement has brought warmth which has been displayed on several occasions between the two neighbours. Exchange of inadvertently crossed over youth on three occasions in the last two months at the zero line in Teetwal have been high points of the prevalent peace along the LoC.
The sweet exchange is a gesture appreciated by both countries and is expected to go a long way in promoting peace, harmony and compassion in the true spirit of the festival with a hope of better future ahead.
Local people on either sides also termed this gestures are deemed to foster peace and harmony which in turn will bring succour to the population living along the borders and promote prosperity and happiness and expected to go a long way in promoting peace, harmony and compassion in the true spirit of the festival.
The exchange was held at 11:35 AM today with adherence to all COVID Protocols by both sides. ( KNS)
