Kupwara Nov 19:Director Rural Sanitation J&K today convened a meeting here to review the physical and financial progress under Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin,Solid Liquid Waste Management and Grey Water management. The meeting was among others attended by Assistant Commissioner Development Kupwara , Executive Engineer REW kupwara, District Panchayat officer Kupwara and Block Development Officers of all blocks of District Kupwara.
During the meeting the District Panchayat Officer Kupwara informed the chair that a Total 98782 IHHLs has been construed under SBM under BLS in which 43679 units have been completed financially, under LOB a total 11753 units have been constructed across the district in which 2434 have been financially completed likewise 1580 IHHLs have been taken up under NLOB.
More over 602 CSC have been sanctioned in all gram panchayats of district Kupwara under SBM in which 194 has been both physically and financially completed and 231 CSCs have been constructed under other schemes of RD& PR
Further chair was informed that Vending Machines and incenrators have been installed in all educational institutions in district were female students( above 9th Standard) are enrolled. Land has been identified in all blocks for taking up projects of SLRM and Goberdan. During meeting, the chair asked District Panchayat Kupwara to ensure utilization of all the available funds under the scheme in a time bound manner strictly as per the guidelines of the scheme. While reviewing the achievement under Solid Waste Management, the chair visited on SLRM which is under construction at Bakiakher halqa of Block Handwara and directed all stakeholders to ensure rural sanitation in all gram panchayats across the district.
The chair expressed satisfactory remarks towards the achievement made in rural Sanitation by the department and directed officers to work with full zeal, eagerness, passions and ardent interest and achieve targets within shortest possible time.
The chair assured that Rs 4.00 crores will be released immediately to liquidate the liabilities under SBM G.
Chair also assured about the exposure visit of officers to inspect SRM projects. Deputy Director Rural Sanitation Kashmir was also accompanying Director Rural Sanitation during visit.
