KUPWARA, AUGUST 5: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress achieved in respect of Bio-Tech Park Handwara.
The meeting was informed that Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Bio-Technology, Government of India has sanctioned Industria Bio-Technology Park (IBTP) for Handwara, at an estimated cost of Rs.42.66 crore. It was also informed that a land measuring 72 kanals, 12 malras were allotted to the Department of Science & Technology by the Department of Revenue J&K for establishment of Bio-Technology Park, on which construction work is going on.
On the occasion, the DDC directed that the ADC Handwara along with Tehsildar Handwara shall ensure fresh demarcation of the land under Bio-Technology Park Handwara within a day and furnish action taken report to the D.C Office.
Science & Technology Department Srinagar was directed to disburse the balance compensation amount to the land owners whose land has been occupied for construction of the Bio-Technology Park on priority. The DDC directed the Additional Director S&T department to take up the matter with concerned quarters for early settlement of claims of compensation of land owners so that they do not suffer any further.
Further, directions were given to SE PDD Sopore Circle to ensure realignment of HT Line passing over the construction site in one week to allow hassle free execution of work.
The DDC also directed the concerned executing agencies to speed up the pace of work and ensure completion of the project within 2 months.
Additional Director Science & Technology Srinagar, Tehsildar Handwara, Representative of Executing Agency and other concerned attended the meeting.
