Kupwara, October 7: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg today inagurated Skill Training Institute and Chaired Public Darbar under Back to Village Phase 3rd(B2V3) at Sogam block. The DDC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner(ADC), Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone; SDM Lolab, Aijaz Ahmad, DPO Kupwara, Superintendent ITI Kupwara, besides, Tehsildar Sogam, AEE and other concerned officers were also present there.
The DDC inagurated Multi Skill Training Institute at Sheikh Mohallah, Sogam. The Institute is being sponsored by Ministry of Minority Affairs, GoI and is run by a private firm, DCI Multi Skills. The Institute provides multiple vocational training courses including Fashion Designing and Plumber courses. It was informed that first batch of 20 female trainees have completed the course of Fashion Designing.
On the occasion, the DDC interacted with the female trainees who put forth several demands before him which include establishment of more Skill Centres at Potushai, Machill & Lalpora areas; introduction of additional trades in the Institute and easing of Finance for artisans.
The DDC directed the Superintendent ITI Kupwara( Nodal Officer for Skill Development) to submit proposal for establishment of Skill Institutes at the demanded places. He stresses upon the concerned to tie up the artisans with Entrepreneurship Development Institute for proper financing of their businesses. Regarding, setting up of additional courses, the DDC directed the concerned officer to identify and introduce different trades in the Institute as per market demand.
Later on, the DDC chaired a Public Darbar under B2V3 of Panchayat Halqa Sogam-C at Agriculture Complex Sogam. During the function, BDC Chairperson Sogam, Nageena Mushtaq and concern Sarpanch apprised the DDC about various issues and put forth demands including reliable drinking water supply, uninterrupted power supply, widening of Wavoora- Chandigam Road, upgradation of health care facilities and allotment of medical staff at SDH Sogam and its PHCs, desiltation of local khuls, availability of Buffer Stock of transformers in view of winter, allotment of additional Playgrounds in Sogam sub division besides, demanded compensation for farmers hit in recent drought.
The DDC passed on spot directions to the concerned officers for resolving the issues raised by the PRIs.
The DDC directed the concerned PHE engineer to ensure smooth drinking water supply to the area from reliable water sources already identified. He directed the concern AEE PDD to ensure availability of adequate buffer stock of transformers for the sub division within 10 days at the disposal of SDM for their utilization during the winter season.
The DDC directed the SDM to ensure availability of essential kits including drugs and other supplies in the SDH Sogam.
Regarding allocation of more playgrounds, DDC asked the BDC Chairperson to identify the land and propose for developing playfields in the area.
While addressing the function, the DDC asked the people to take maximum benefit of the ambitious Back to Village programme and get registered themselves under various welfare schemes of the Government like Pension Yojna and PM Kissan. He stressed upon the PRIs to utilize the recently allocated amount of Rs.10 lakh in the optimal development of their respective panchayat haqas.
The DDC also distributed Baby Packs among the beneficiaries at the function.
Meanwhile, B2V3 is going on in all 128 panchayats of Kupwara district today on its 6th day with engagement of Gazetted officers with PRIs and general public in identification and resolving of their problems.
