Reviews Ground level Situation amid Lockdown
Kupwara, May 13: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg today visited Kralpora and Trehgam Tehsils of the district and took stock of the problems of the people at ground level. He was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Bashir Ahmad Bhat; AD Food and other concerned officers.
At Kralpora, the Deputy Commissioner convened a joint meeting of local administration and members of the traders federation and civil society besides, PRIs. During the meeting, different issues were raised with regard to augmentation of irrigation facilities in Kralpora, upgradation of power and water supply schemes, release of pending payments of BADP works. The members of the traders federation projected for relaxation in lockdown to enable people to bring essential commodities and allow the farmers to cultivate their agriculture fields.
The Deputy Commissioner heard them patiently and gave on spot decisions to resolve the issues. The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned engineers of PHE and Irrigation to acquire stock of required pipes for upgradation of water supply and irrigation schemes. He directed for opening up of medical shops on rotation basis in Kralpora market.
The Deputy Commissioner asked concerned Tehsildars to implement lockdown as per already issued directives.
The DC also visited Trehgam and interacted with Red Zone Administrator and local administration and directed them to ensure 100 percent usage of masks and maintenance of social distancing.
The people at both Tehsil headquarters applauded the Administration for their best efforts to handle the situation in containing the pandemic COVID-19.
