DC Kupwara sensitizes officers, DDC members about FRA

KUPWARA, JANUARY 08: Deputy Commissioner(DC),Kupwara, Anshul Garg convened a joint meeting of senior officers and District Development council (DDC) members and BDC chairpersons of the district,here today.
           The objective of the meeting was to familiarize public representatives about the guidelines and benefits of Forest Rights Act (FRA).
            Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for holding of massive awareness about the Act. He said DDC members and BDC chairpersons are the representatives of the public and can betterly create awareness among the general masses, vis a vis Panchayat Raj Institutions.
         On the occasion, the DDC members and BDC Chairpersons were given thorough awareness about various modalities of the Act.
         ADC Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone; ACR Kupwara, DPO, DFO Kamraj and other concerned were present in the meeting.
Earlier, a Revenue officers meeting was held under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Bashir Ahmad Bhat in which Officers were sensitized about the Forest Rights Act. The participants were apprised about technicalities under the Act .
        It was given out in the meeting that Master Trainers were given necessary training yesterday who shall further train the other Committees constituted at district and tehsil level . It was also informed that gram sabhas shall be held at Village level for further awareness of the Act among the people.
      Similar training session was chaired by SDM Karnah Dr.Bilal Mohi-u-din Bhat, at Tanghar, in which master trainers were sensitized about the Act.
