KUPWARA, JUNE 5: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today visited Kheer Bhawani Temple Tikker and inspected the arrangements for celebration of annual Kheer Bhawani Mela. He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, Ghulam Nabi Bhat and concerned officers.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to ensure foolproof arrangements for uninterrupted power and drinking water supplies, transport, security, ration, medical facilities, lighting, sanitation in and around the temple and other arrangements.
The DC directed the EO Municipal Committee to ensure proper sanitation and lighting facilities in and around the temple by today evening.
He also directed District Agriculture Officer for installation of stalls and ensure availability of vegetables in consultation with the management committee of the Temple.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned for deployment of team of doctors there to ensure hassle free health care facilities for the devotees during the celebration of the festival.
He also inspected the Yatri Niwas and took stock of the arrangements for staying of devotees.
