KUPWARA, MARCH 27: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din today conducted a maiden public hearing programme at D.C. Office Kupwara in which large number of people from Kupwara, Drugmulla, Hayhama, Sogam and other blocks participated and registered their grievances before the Commissioner.
The Deputy Commissioner heard the people patiently and issued directions to the concerned officers for immediate redressal of the grievances of the people.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that public hearing has been introduced on the directions of Lieutenant Governor, J&K UT. He said the public hearing shall be a continuous feature of District Administration Kupwara and people can visit his office on every Monday, Thursday and Saturday between 11 AM to 1PM.
The Deputy Commissioner said that public grievance mechanism is getting popularity in the district and people across the district are coming to get their grievances redressed. He said apart from public hearing at his office three days in a week, Block Divas/Public Darbars are being conducted on every Wednesday at block level where people are registering their demands and grievances and are getting timely redressal of their issues.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that a mechanism for monitoring of public grievance redressal has also been devised and in this regard District/ sectoral Heads are directed to dispose of the public grievances and submit Action Taken Reports and proper minutes of each Block Divas are being issued to monitor the mechanism in the best interest of public.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara provided textbooks to a class 10th needed student.
