KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 17: On the launch of ‘Elder Line’ a helpline for senior citizens by Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha across the J&K UT, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din today distributed motorized tricycles among 15 specially abled persons at D.C.Office Kupwara. District Social Welfare officer Kupwara, Hidaitullah Mir was also present on the occasion. The distribution of motorized tricycles was organized by Social Welfare department Kupwara in collaboration with J&K Rehabilitation Council. It was informed that all the beneficiaries of these tricyles have locomotive disability and most of them are students and self employed persons. Each motorized tricycle cost Rs.75000 which is provided free of cost to the beneficiary. On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the Social Welfare department for helping the specially-abled persons with necessary aids and equipment. He directed the concerned officer for coverage of more and more such persons in the district under different welfare and rehabilitation schemes of the department. Meanwhile, the beneficiaries expressed gratitude towards the Deputy Commissioner for providing them motorized tricycles and hoped for benefits under other schemes in the same manner.
